National Apprenticeship Week is a celebration of learning and charting new waters.
At Kayak PR, we have also been venturing into new areas. Usually, we are more comfortable promoting our clients in the media and setting up podcasts and speaking opportunities for them.
However, recently, Kathryn Hughes, Managing Director of Kayak PR was invited to be a guest on Kingston Courier’s podcast, produced by Kingston University media students.
This marked a unique opportunity to share insights on PR and crisis management directly with the audience.
In the podcast, Kathryn discussed PR strategies, crisis management and maintaining reputations.
She discusses how companies can respond effectively when something goes wrong and how they can best communicate to protect their reputation.
She also shares her experience of working with The Cutty Sark Trust when the Cutty Sark was on fire and handling hundreds of media interviews from around the world.
Along with industry insights, she also offered practical advice to aspiring media professionals or those looking to get into PR focusing on how the industry has evolved and the skills needed to succeed.
A big thank to Moiz Saifuddin at Kingston University and to Kingston Courier for the platform.
